Proper heat treatment and sizing are essential to the proper function of all the shafts in any projector.

Inadequate or shallow hardness of the shaft will cause premature wear under oil seals and bushings, which will result in any number of associated problems with gears, belts, and sprockets. Where rigidity is a must, as in the vertical shafts, LaVezzi uses materials with the highest tensile strength to meet the demanding stiffness requirement.

Improper sizing or eccentric diameters not only cause installation problems, but also shorten the life of related components such as gears and bearings. LaVezzi constantly monitors that all dimensions are rigidly adhered to throughout the manufacturing process.
